Guest Instructor Anastasia Blaes
Anastasia’s obsession with yarn began almost before she learned to read. Taught to crochet by her grandmother at six years old, her first original design was the infamous Barbie tube top. She soon after taught herself to knit and began designing for herself. Discovering that others were interested in her original designs, she sold finished garments locally and in a baby boutique in Chicago. Anastasia has co-authored two books: The Knitter’s Guide to Yarn Cocktails and The Crocheter’s Guide to Yarn Cocktails with Kelly Wilson. She has designed for several major yarn companies and various magazines, as well as contributing to 101 Designer One-Skein Wonders by Judih Durant. Anastasia is a member of TNNA, CGOA, TKGA and her local knitting guild, the Prince William Purlers. She and her family now live in Virginia.
"YARN COCKTAILS™ patterns have been designed to be stress-free and fun. Their content and presentation convey an atmosphere of enjoyment and relaxation. YARN COCKTAILS™ patterns are meant to be savored, slowly, luxuriously. Just as people sit down with a cocktail to relax at the end of a long day, we want YARN COCKTAILS™ patterns to be that "tasty sip" at the end of the day, a long-anticipated chance to "unwind."
